Cyborg’s Bantamweight Debut Set For 12/5 Invicta FC Event On UFC Fight Pass

UFC announced via the latest edition of their “UFC Minute” what they billed as “breaking news.”

Former Strikeforce and Invicta FC Women’s Champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino will officially drop down to 135 pounds to make her Bantamweight debut at the Invicta FC event airing on UFC Fight Pass on December 5th.

You can watch the announcement being made via the “UFC Minute” breaking news video above.

Obviously the reason this is considered “breaking news” is due to the fact that Cyborg will be making her debut in the same weight class as UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. UFC President Dana White has noted many times in the past that if Cyborg wants to challenge Rousey for the title, she would have to prove she can make weight and win a fight or two in the Bantamweight division.

No opponent was announced for Cyborg as of right now. If and when we find out who her opponent will be, we will be sure to update you here at MMANews.com.
