UFC President Dana White finally addressed all of the speculation surrounding who will receive the next UFC Featherweight title shot.
While there has been a lot of talk of Conor McGregor leap-frogging top-ranked contenders Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson for the next shot at Jose Aldo’s title, that may not necessarily be the case.
White told UFC.com on Thursday that nothing is set in stone at this point, and that all parties involved should focus on the fights that are ahead of them.
“I told Cub and Frankie, ‘Don’t worry about anything you hear with all the Conor McGregor talk and all the other stuff,” White told UFC.com. “You worry about Cub Swanson and you worry about Frankie Edgar.'”
White continued, “Believe me, the fact that people are arguing over who should get a title shot in the 145-pound division isn’t a bad thing. It’s a good thing.”
