Where there’s one side to a story, there’s another. And, well, in this case, yet another one after that.
Earlier this week, UFC Hall Of Famer and former manager to Invicta FC Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino — Tito Ortiz — claimed that UFC sent Cyborg a contract for a bout with UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.
Upon hearing the news, UFC President Dana White delivered a response like only “Uncle Dana” can do.
“That was a complete lie,” White said to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports. “It’s 100 percent a lie.”
White continued, “First of all, the UFC doesn’t even talk to Tito Ortiz, so let’s start there. But we haven’t offered any fight to [Justino]. Tito Ortiz is just making this sh*t up. In no way, shape or form did we offer her a fight against Ronda at Cowboys Stadium. Completely untrue.”
“The problem is, this kind of thing gets out there and picks up momentum when there is no truth to it,” White said. “And it was just something that he decided to make up. But it’s not true.”
So, that pretty much sums everything up, right?
Wrong.
Both Ortiz and Cyborg took to social media to respond to White’s response.
Ortiz simply wrote, “Well, Cris Cyborg, there’s your answer!”
Cyborg, on the other hand, basically said the UFC boss man is full of bull.
“I’m not lying, nor is Tito,” wrote Justino in a new tweet posted late Saturday evening. “UFC called my manager last Sunday to see if I would fight Ronda [Rousey] at 135 [pounds] on December 5.”
