Chael Sonnen recently claimed that the seeds were recently planted to develop a 205-pound super fight between MMA legends Anderson Silva and Fedor Emelianenko, a rumor that UFC President Dana White insists is not true.
“That’s completely false,” White said during the recent UFC 193 press conference in Australia. “You know, the Fedor thing has been this weird deal for a long time.”
White continued, “We’ve obviously talked to Fedor many times and tried to get it done, and we’ll see how this thing plays out. But no, there’s absolutely no truth to that whatsoever. Sorry Chael.”
Obviously now we know that Fedor has signed a two-fight deal with Nobuyuki Sakikibara, and will make his MMA fighting return on New Year’s Eve in Japan, airing live and free on Spike TV.
