It appears that number one ranked UFC Flyweight contender John Dodson will be the next person standing across the Octagon to challenge dominant 115-pound champion Demetrious Johnson.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the news on this week’s edition of UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1 that Dodson will indeed be next in line for “Mighty Mouse,” as the two will collide in a rematch from their first meeting back in January of 2013.
Since dropping a unanimous decision loss to Johnson, Dodson has remained active, compiling an unblemished 3-0 run inside the Octagon, with two of the three victories coming by way of knockout or technical knockout.
Meanwhile, Johnson continues to prove why he is the third ranked pound-for-pound fighter on the planet, as he has amassed a perfect 5-0 record since defeating Dodson in their first meeting, with four of his five most recent victories coming by knockout or submission.
White did not specify a date or location for the scheduled UFC Flyweight Championship bout between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson, however it appears to be signed, sealed, and soon-to-be delivered.
