Ronda Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm at Saturday’s UFC 193 event, and Dana White is already teasing the rematch. White commented on Rousey’s loss by saying a rematch between the two women “makes a lot of sense.”
Here’s what White had to say at the post-UFC 193 press conference in Melbourne:
“It changes a lot of things now,” he said. “The (potential Cristiane) ‘Cyborg’ (Justino) fight, some other stuff we were working on.”
“The rematch makes a lot of sense,” White said. “I think the rematch is what people would want to see.”
Despite being the winner, Holm embraces the idea of a rematch with Rousey:
“I think a rematch makes sense for sure,” Holm said in the post-fight press conference. “I’ve been on the losing side of a fight, and I wanted the rematch, I wanted to avenge my loss. With a champion like Ronda who has gone out of her way – above and beyond – to do great things, absolutely, she deserves a rematch. I don’t look at this belt and think I’ve made it. I think I still have things that I need to do.
“I think a rematch – that’s just kind of unspoken, just common sense to me, I guess.”
UFC 193 took place on November 14, 2015 (in the U.S) from Melbourne, Australia at Etihad Stadium.
