Frankie Edgar: With McGregor Out, UFC 200 Fight With Aldo Should Be For Vacant Title

When it comes to the subject of Conor McGregor being pulled from the UFC 200 fight card, former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar has a very definite opinion.

Edgar spoke at the UFC’s International Fight Week launch event on Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada and gave his thoughts on the McGregor/UFC 200 situation.

“I don’t know what’s going on in his head. I don’t really care, you know?” Edgar said of McGregor. “I think this fight should be for the vacant title right now, to be honest. I don’t think he’s ever coming down to 145, if he ever even comes back. So I think me and Aldo should go at it for the real one.”

Edgar is scheduled to fight Aldo for the interim UFC Featherweight title at UFC 200. According to UFC President Dana White, McGregor, the reigning UFC Featherweight Champion, will fight the winner of the Edgar-Aldo bout.

UFC 200 is scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Make sure to visit MMANews.com on 7/9 for the best UFC 200 live results coverage on the web!
