UFC has confirmed the co-main event for their upcoming UFC 188 pay-per-view in June, which is scheduled to feature the return of Cain Velasquez, as he defends the UFC Heavyweight Championship against Fabricio Werdum in the main event of the show.
Serving as the number two fight on the June 13th card will be an intriguing UFC Lightweight contender bout, as former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez battles former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez.
Joining Melendez vs. Alvarez as new fights on the card are Tecia Torres and Angela Hill, who will meet in a battle of former Ultimate Fighter contestants, as well as rising Irish contender Cathal Pendred, who meets Augusto Montano in a preliminary bout.
UFC 188: Velasquez vs. Werdum takes place on Saturday, June 13th at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico.
