Boy, UFC 180 can’t catch a break.
Just two days after the news broke that Cain Velasquez was injured and out of the UFC 180 main event against Fabricio Werdum, which was the same day the story broke that Joe Lauzon was injured and out of his planned bout with Diego Sanchez, the injury bug has bitten the card once more.
UFC confirmed reports today that Sanchez is now off the UFC 180 lineup due to an injury as well.
Stepping up to fill the void left on the main card is the scheduled bout between Welterweight sluggers Edgar Garcia and Hector Urbina.
It appears that UFC won’t be taking up “The Notorious” Conor McGregor on his offer to step up and fight at UFC 180 on short notice, so fans who bought tickets to the event are getting much, much less than they originally thought.
UFC 180 takes place on November 15, 2014 at Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, with an interim UFC Heavyweight Championship main event between Fabricio Werdum and Mark Hunt.
