During a recent appearance on the Fight Companion podcast, UFC commentator Joe Rogan explained why he would be okay with seeing a man fight a woman, particularly mentioning Bryan Caraway vs. Ronda Rousey.
Caraway, who is the boyfriend of Rousey’s biggest rival to date — Miesha Tate — infamously talked trash about Rousey, threatening to “knock her teeth down her throat” and “break her arm,” right before Rousey first fought and defeated Tate to become the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion.
While Rousey herself recently claimed that men fighting women is not a good idea, she has been game for a fight with Caraway in the past.
Rogan spoke about the subject during the aforementioned podcast appearance and gave his two cents on a Rousey-Caraway bout.
“If you know that a chick used to be a dude, but is now a chick and you fight her, I’m on board,” said Rogan. “I think it should be legal to ride bulls, I think it should be legal to jump BMX, you should be able to do whatever the f*ck you wanna do. I think a 135 pound chick should be able to fight a 135 pound dude.”
He continued, “I think if Ronda Rousey and Bryan Caraway talked enough sh*t and they decided to go at it, I don’t have any problem with that if they both agree to it.”
Even UFC President Dana White feels Rousey could beat up most men.
For now, however, we’ll have to settle for Rousey fighting the undefeated number one contender in her own diviison, as she’s scheduled to return to the Octagon on January 3rd for a fight at UFC 182 against Cat Zingano.
