Jon Jones: “If Rousey Is Granted An Immediate Rematch, I Expect Same Treatment For Aldo”

While most in the MMA community would enjoy seeing a longer fight between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo, it seems to be understood that an immediate rematch isn’t necessary. Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, however, has a different opinion.

“Bones” Jones took to social media after UFC 194 on Saturday night to express his desire in seeing an immediate rematch, pointing out his belief that if Ronda Rousey deserves an immediate rematch against Holly Holm, Aldo deserves one with McGregor as well.

“If Rousey is granted an immediate rematch I would expect the same treatment for Aldo,” wrote Jones on Twitter. “It only seems right.”

Jones elaborated, posting again on Twitter when asked by a fan if McGregor should defend the belt as wel.

“At this point yes still want a longer version of the fight. It would simply be epic.”

Regarding McGregor, Jones made sure to give him his props after commenting on wanting to see an Aldo-McGregor rematch booked.

“I think he’s phenomenal for our sport,” wrote Jones. “There is a lot fighters [who] could learn from him.”

“Congratulations btw #Respect,” Jones concluded.
