Jon Jones Ready To Cement GOAT Status Once Paid Adequately

Jon Jones has laid out how he will cement his status as the greatest of all time, but these plans will only be put into motion if the UFC increases his salary.

Jon Jones is widely considered to be the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. He became the youngest UFC champion ever at 23 years old, a record that stands to this day, and has defeated anyone and everyone thrown his way ever since. After achieving everything there was to achieve in the light heavyweight division, Jones has been preparing relentlessly for a move up to heavyweight. Tuesday night, Jones shared an update on the progress he is making in his strength enhancement.

After mixing it up with fans about PED allegations, Jon Jones would then lay out what it will take for him to cement GOAT status, and there will be actions required from Jones inside the cage and the UFC inside the boardroom.

“I’m finally at a point where I can see that as clear as day, I acknowledge that comfortably and confidently. As soon as I can get my pay reflecting that, buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride. The legacy continues.

“The current champion is 38, I’m only 33, Mark my words eventually I will have that belt around my waist. There’s no rush. I’ll just keep building my body, I’ll focus on doing all the right things outside of the octagon, and hopefully one day the company will see more value in me,” Jones wrote.

Jon Jones has been voicing his displeasure with his current UFC deal for several months now, and there apparently have been no changes at all on this front. If the UFC and Jones are able to come to terms, he will challenge the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou’s heavyweight bout scheduled for UFC 260 later this month. Should Jones capture the heavyweight title, it will make it increasingly difficult to argue against his GOAT status, even with his complicated history with USADA that will follow him past retirement.

Do you think Jon Jones would be the GOAT if he won the UFC heavyweight championship?
