Julianna Pena (6-2) had some comments on her fight with Jessica Eye (11-3) at UFC 192 his weekend.
On Eye calling her out: “That’s none of my business, and she called me out begged (UFC matchmaker) Sean Shelby and (UFC President) Dana White until she was blue in the face, so they called me up and gave me the fight. If that’s what she wanted, that’s what she’s going to get. Whether she’s ready or not, she got what she asked for, and that’s getting into a fistfight with me,” Pena said. “We’re going to go toe-to-toe on Saturday night, and that’s that.”
On how the fight could be empowering to women: “In my opinion, it’s worth the pay-per-view money alone,” Pena said. “It’s going to be very empowering for a lot of people, especially the woman out there. So I look forward to getting that job done and displaying 110 percent of my abilities. I’m about to get in a three-round fistfight with this chick,” she added, “and it’s going to be incredible.”
UFC 192 airs this Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 from Houston’s Toyota Center.
