Miesha Tate Writes Blog About 10-Year Anniversary Of Her First-Ever Amateur MMA Fight

Ahead of her first defense of the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship against Amanda Nunes at the upcoming landmark UFC 200 event in July, Miesha Tate took to social media to write a blog about the 10-year anniversary of her first-ever amateur mixed-martial-arts fight.

Tate wrote the following on her official Instagram page over the weekend:

This is a truly memorable #throwbackthursday for me, it was my first amateur mma fight 10 years ago and I got my nose smashed clean in, had no idea what a thai clinch was nor how to defend against it. Needless to say, I learned something very important that day and in retrospect very imprtant to who I am today. I learned to take the good with the bad. I learned how to fall down, I also learned how to get back up. I learned that I’m a lot tougher than I ever knew, and I learned that adversity will always be a part of life. Its whether you cower down to it or you stand stronger for it that makes the difference. #tbt #mma

Tate vs. Nunes joins Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar 2 for the interim UFC Featherweight title, Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne, Brock Lesnar vs. TBD and Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones 2 for the UFC Light Heavyweight title as fights scheduled for the main card of the historical UFC 200 event.

UFC 200 is scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2016 from the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Make sure to join us here at MMANews.com on 7/9 for the best UFC 200 live results coverage on the web!
