After an attempt to get his title back went horribly wrong earlier this year due to a weight-cutting incident that went wrong, former UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao will officially make his return to the Octagon on December 20th.
UFC announced today a match pitting Barao against rising Canadian prospect Mitch Gagnon for UFC Fight Night 58, which takes place in his home country of Brazil.
This will be the first time Barao has entered the Octagon since losing his title in a shocking upset to current champion T.J. Dillashaw back in May.
Also scheduled for UFN 58 on December 20th are the following bouts:
– Lyoto Machida vs. C.B. Dollaway
– Patrick Cummins vs. Antonio Carlos Junior
– Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Igor Pokrajac
– Charlie Brenneman vs. Leandro Silva
– Leandro Issa vs. Yuta Sasaki
– Rashid Magomedov vs. Elias Silverio
