Talk about generating interest for a short-notice replacement main event!
On Wednesday, it was made official by the UFC that Michael Bisping will be filling in for the injured Chris Weidman in the title match main event against middleweight champion Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 next month.
The Rockhold-Bisping fight will be a rematch of an intense grudge match that the two had previously inside the Octagon, a fight Rockhold won via submission after dropping “The Count” with a big shot.
Shortly after the news of the fight became public, Bisping took to social media to talk about taking the fight on two weeks notice, saying it was his “destiny” to become the UFC Middleweight Champion on June 4th.
Rockhold, picking up the intensity where their last rivalry left off, was quick to respond to Bisping, informing him that it was actually his destiny to be Rockhold’s “little b*tch.”
You can check out Bisping’s post and a “UFC Tonight” tweet about what Rockhold said in response to Bisping’s comments below.
Rockhold to Bisping: You say this fight is your destiny? It's your destiny to be my little b****.
