Ronda Rousey On Men Fighting Women: “I Don’t Think It’s A Good Idea”

Although UFC President Dana White touts “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey as a lady who can kick most men’s butts — including Floyd Mayweather — the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion doesn’t think the world should ever witness a man versus a woman fighting on television.

During a recent FOX Sports interview, the undefeated face of Women’s MMA spoke about the subject of male vs. female fights.

“I don’t think it’s realistically a good idea at all,” said Rousey. “Because MMA is already fighting to be accepted, especially with all the Ray Rice and all these things going on.”

“Rowdy” Ronda continued, “It’s never going to be a good thing to have a man hitting a woman on television or ever in any circumstance unless it’s the gym where I’m about to go train right now after this.”

Rousey concluded, “I don’t think it would be good to have that image on television. I don’t think it’s a good idea.”

Rousey is scheduled to make the fifth defense of her UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship against the number one ranked contender in the division — Cat Zingano — in the co-main event of UFC 182, which takes place on January 3, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
