Rousey “Not Surprised” By Drawing More PPV Buys Than Mayweather For Their Latest Fights

While Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather can never actually fight each other, it hasn’t stopped Rousey from kicking Mayweather’s butt in many others ways, including one that has to be a bitter pill to swallow for the man who calls himself “Money” Mayweather.

After beating out Mayweather for the 2015 “Fighter of the Year” at the ESPY Awards, where she would then take a public shot at Mayweather’s past with domestic abuse, “Rowdy” Ronda has bested the boxing pound-for-pound king yet again, this time where it hurts.

According to early estimates, Mayweather’s latest bout, his retirement fight against Andre Berto, drew only 550,000 buys on pay-per-view, an estimate that industry insiders say might even be a bit on the high side. Meanwhile, Rousey’s last fight, against a relative unknown to the casual public, Bethe Correia, a woman who didn’t even speak English, in Brazil no-less, drew over 900,000 buys on pay-per-view, according to estimates.

“I’m not surprised,” Rousey told TMZ. “A lot of people were pissed after that Pacquiao fight.”

Rousey will continue to stack up broken records on her list of accomplishments in her next fight, as she is expected to break the UFC’s all-time attendance record when she defends her UFC women’s bantamweight championship against undefeated contender and former multiple-time women’s boxing champion Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193, which emanates from the 70,000+ seat Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia on November 15, 2015.
