While Ronda Rousey certainly won’t need to ask her neighbor for a cup of sugar anytime soon, she is still light years away from earning the type of money Floyd Mayweather makes for his fights, and the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion recently addressed that very issue.
Yahoo! News recently spoke with Rousey about the gap in pay between herself and Mayweather, an issue Rousey claims doesn’t bother her at all.
“You being at the height of your sport maybe make what? A million dollars at most per fight? Does that anger you and what can we do to change that,” questioned Yahoo! News.
“If I got to a point where I had almost 50 fights, I would probably be making close to the same amount of money as Floyd does,” Rousey replied, noting that she is more than “comfortable” with what she earns now.
Rousey continued, “But at this point, I have 11, so I can’t expect it to be exactly equal yet, I don’t think. I have to put more time in.”
