UPDATE: The Alves-Mein fight has now been made official for UFC 183 by UFC.com.
A bout between Thiago Alves and Jordan Mein is set to take place in January as part of the UFC 183 pay-per-view undercard.
MMA Junkie reported that the Alves-Mein bout, which was originally scheduled for UFC Fight Night 49 in August, has been finalized and is expected to be made official in the near future.
Former UFC Welterweight title contender Alves had to pull out of their originally scheduled August bout due to injury, which left Mein to battle gritty veteran Mike Pyle, a fight Mein won with ease, TKO’ing him in just 72 seconds.
UFC 183 is scheduled to take place on January 31, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a main event of Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz.
