Tyron Woodley recently sat down with MMAjunkie.com to discuss his fight with Johny Hendricks this weekend at UFC 192, which has title contention on the line.
Comparing himself to Johny Hendricks: “I’m faster. I’m stronger. I’m more agile. I’ve got better footwork. I’ve got better footwork. I’ve got better boxing. I’m hungrier. I haven’t tasted a world title – I don’t know how the belt feels around my waist. I think I have that competitive edge.”
On the fight itself: “This is exactly the fight I wanted. Stylistically, this is an amazing fight – I think the fans will be in for a treat. If you see how I’m hitting these pads, I mean business this week. I’m coming out blazing, and I’m going to finish this fight. He’s the No. 1-(ranked) fighter in the (UFC’s welterweight division). I can fight a sub-top ten fighter and put on a great performance and get a title shot, but I’m old school. I feel like you’ve got to earn it. He’s my toughest matchup, and that’s why I asked for him.”
UFC 192 goes down on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at Houston’s Toyota Center.
