On Friday, a fight scheduled for this weekend’s UFC 188 pay-per-view in Mexico City was canceled.
Andrew Todhunter, a late replacement opponent who was scheduled to fight Albert Tumenov on the UFC 188 undercard, reportedly passed out while trying to cut weight for today’s official weigh-ins.
According to UFC.com, Todhunter, who was scheduled to make his UFC debut on Saturday, passed out while cutting weight, leading to doctors hooking him up to an IV to replenish the lost water weight and because he fell unconscious while cutting weight, he will not be allowed to fight as scheduled.
Tumenov will receive his show money for the fight still, but because of the timeframe of this incident, there will be no replacement opponent or fight on the show.
