UFC Draws New Record-Low Rating For UFC 177 Prelims On FS1

The preliminary fights for this past Saturday’s UFC 177 pay-per-view, which aired live on FOX Sports 1, drew the lowest rating in the history of the UFC.

On Saturday, August 30th, UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Soto took place from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California, an event that was cursed from day one. The preliminary fights, as noted, aired on FS1, drawing the least amount of viewers for a UFC preliminary card on an outlet with legitimate national penetration in the history of the company.

The UFC 177 prelims on FS1 drew 436,000 viewers, falling well below the previous record-low, which was 628,000 viewers for the UFC 166 prelims on FS1 back in October of 2013.

Saturday’s show drew barely half of the 859,000 average viewers for fights on FS1 since the promotion moved away from their previous cable home on Spike TV.

In all fairness, the show did fall on Labor Day weekend and was an event that had multiple fights fall off of the card the day before the show.
