UFC Veteran Matt Hamill Announces Retirement From MMA

UFC standout Matt Hamill announced his second retirement on Wednesday via his official Facebook page. Hamill, who cited a “nagging injury” as the reason for his exit from the sport, retires with a professional MMA record of 11-5 and a UFC record of 10-5.

The fighter, who gained notiriety and fame for his emergence to the sport during season three of the UFC’s popular reality television show, “The Ultimate Fighter,” the highly rated season that featured Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz as rival coaches.

Hamill wrote the following on his Facebook page on Wednesday, thanking his fans for their support throughout his career:

“First and foremost, I would like to thank my most loyal fans for standing by me throughout my 10 year career with MMA… All good things must come to an end and I am saddened that the time has come for me to hang up my gloves permanently due to a nagging injury that has never healed and has worsened with time. The memories have been good….”
