UFC held their “The Time Is Now” press conference today in Las Vegas Nevada, where a “major announcement” was promised. That major announcement, unfortunately, was “no announcement.”
After unveiling their complete schedule for the 2015 calendar year, the presser was opened up to questions from members of the MMA media. The first question, of course, was directed at UFC President Dana White, as he was asked what the promised “major announcement” was.
Unfortunately for fight fans anticipating what the announcement was going to be, you’re going to have to wait.
“We didn’t get it done in time,” said White. “So, you can all go home now!”
The rest of the press conference basically featured many of UFC’s top fighters fielding questions from the MMA media, UFC’s Twitter account and fans in attendance. Nothing overly groundbreaking was revealed in the question-and-answer portion of the presser, although it was certainly a cool sight to see that much star power in one room.
After a heartbreaking 2014 year for UFC that saw many of the promotion’s biggest fights cancelled due to injuries, it was also very exciting to see what is in store for 2015.
Dana White wasn’t the only one knocking on wood when promising that the scheduled fights that were presented in Vegas this evening would definitely take place.
