It looks like Robbie Lawler’s injury won’t keep him out of action as long as was first expected.
Lawler’s manager, Dave Martin, told UFC Tonight this week that thumb injury is not serious and will not require surgery. Martin said that the worst case scenario is that Lawler will be on the sidelines for a month.
Additionally, Martin did mention that Lawler could be ready for UFC 195 on January 2nd in Las Vegas if UFC would need a main event, which as of right now, it looks like they do.
When healthy, Lawler is expected to defend his UFC Welterweight Championship against Carlos Condit, as the two were scheduled to headline UFC 193 in the 60,000+ seat Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
