Urijah Faber picked up an impressive win this past weekend at UFC on FOX 9 and with the win put himself back in contention for a shot at the UFC Bantamweight Championship. Faber talked about the two men vying for the title next and explained why he wants to fight either one:
“I’d like to take some time off and see what happens with these two guys. I like Barao (to win the fight), but I want to beat up Cruz. So it’s a mix there. It didn’t happen (with Cruz and I) after ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ It cost us both a lot of money.”
As for the win over Michael MacDonald, it ranks high on the former champs favorite fights:
“I think it was probably top three. The media is always finding excuses to talk about you, and a lot of times it’s negative stuff. I had a rough year in 2012 on other fronts and only got to fight once, and it was a loss.”
