CM Punk has been doing the media rounds this week and spoke with ESPN’s MMA Live to discuss his transition from the world of pro wrestling to mixed martial arts.
There were a number of topics covered, including the similarities of his journey to Brock Lesnar’s, which fight camp he will train with (he hasn’t decided yet) and the most newsworthy item – when he’s planning to step inside the Octagon for the first time. Here’s what he said:
“Are you gonna hold me to this? Is everyone gonna hold me to this? We’re saying 2015, which is very vague, but that’s kind of how we want to keep it right now. It’s 100% up to me – when I feel like I’m as ready as I’m going to get, without pushing it to 2016. So it’ll probably be, at the earliest, fall. Latest, you know, sometime around this time next year.”
