Video: Dana White On Talking To Jose Aldo After UFC 194 Loss: “He’s Devastated”

History was made on Saturday night when Conor McGregor broke the all-time record for the fastest finish in UFC championship history, knocking out featherweight champion Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds and breaking his ten year, 18-0 unbeaten streak in the process. According to Dana White, Aldo was “devastated” after the fight.

The UFC President appeared on the official UFC 194 post-fight show on FOX Sports 1 after the event on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and spoke about the the highly-anticipated Aldo-McGregor bout.

“Well, one of the great things about a fight like tonight is two of the best fighters in the world — in their prime — both healthy …if this fight would have happened last time when Chad Mendes fought, Conor’s knee was blown out and Aldo was all banged up too,” said White.

White continued, “This time we had both these guys completely healthy, injury-free [and] it couldn’t have been a better set up for a fight.”

Prior to UFC 194, Aldo was the only UFC 145-pound champion in history. He was riding an 18-0 unbeaten streak and was ranked the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world according to the official UFC rankings. However, it took McGregor only 13 seconds and two punches to put a change to all of that.

Considering the fact that he was taunted and tormented by the vicious verbal ability and maniacal mind-games of McGregor for several months leading up to what was clearly going to be a widely viewed contest, Aldo was understandably upset with the way things played out.

“Yeah, I walked into his locker room and talked to him and his family,” said White when asked if he had spoken to Aldo after the fight yet. “He’s devastated.”
