At the UFC International Fight Week launch event in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, some interesting hints were made regarding a potential new main event for the promotion’s landmark UFC 200 event in July.
During the promotional video that aired for UFC 200 during the press event on Friday, it was noted that the event would feature three title fights. When UFC President Dana White was asked about it, he alluded to a fight that he is working on putting together, but wouldn’t give any indication as to who is involved the potential bout.
Additionally, White noted that it is still possible that Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier II could be moved into the UFC 200 main event spot, given Jones beats Ovince Saint Preux on Saturday, remains healthy, and he and Cormier both agree to the 7/9 date for the rematch.
UFC 200 is scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
