Ahead of his first defense as UFC Middleweight Champion at this coming Saturday’s UFC 199 pay-per-view event, Luke Rockhold is featured in the new “UFC 199: On The Brink” video, which is embedded above.
Featured in the video is a look back at Rockhold’s memorable victory over Chris Weidman at the UFC 194 pay-per-view event back in December of 2015. With the upset over Weidman, Rockhold became the undisputed 185-pound champion of the UFC.
This Saturday, in the main event of UFC 199, Rockhold was scheduled to defend his title for the first time in an immediate rematch against the former champion, however Weidman was forced to pull out of the fight due to injury.
In his place, former Rockhold foe and longtime UFC 185-pound contender Michael “The Count” Bisping will get a second crack at Rockhold, who finished the British UFC star in their first meeting with a submission.
UFC 199: Rockhold vs. Bisping II takes place this Saturday, June 4, 2016, from The Forum in Inglewood, California, and will also feature the long-awaited rubber match between bitter rivals Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber for Cruz’s UFC Bantamweight Championship.
