On Sunday, UFC will premiere a new hype show for their UFC 197 pay-per-view scheduled for later this month, as “UFC Counterpunch: Cormier vs. Jones” airs on FOX Sports 1.
Embedded above is a preview for the first-ever installment of the series, which has a similar feel to the “Faceoff with Max Kellerman” specials that HBO runs with Kellerman interviewing two boxers who are about to meet inside the squared circle.
“UFC Counterpunch: Cormier vs. Jones” will feature UFC commentator Joe Rogan in an empty room with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier and former champion Jon Jones as the trio will discuss the main story points heading into this month’s UFC 197 event.
The official description for the UFC Counterpunch special reads as follows:
“Insults fly and the enmity grows when UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former titleholder Jon Jones discuss their upcoming rematch in a heated interview. Hosted by Joe Rogan. Catch is Sunday at 10:30pm/7:30pm ETPT on FS1.”
