VIDEO: UFC Publishes New Video Dubbed: “Conor’s Checklist”

This weekend, two of the best Featherweights that UFC has to offer will be competing for the most coveted prize in all of MMA, as Jose Aldo defends the UFC Featherweight Championship against Chad Mendes at UFC 179 in Brazil.

If you follow the headlines, however, this week has been all about a different Featherweight altogether. A “Notorious” Featherweight, you might say.

After starting the week off with an epic Twitter rant aimed at Dennis Siver, the rising Irish superstar turned his attention to this weekend’s pay-per-view, where he claims he’s going to boost ticket sales for UFC 179 by appearing in the front row as Aldo and Mendes battle for the right to be called number one.

Along the way, McGregor has had his supporters and his detractors.

On the supportive side, former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar says he understands Conor McGregor’s rise, while fellow trash-talker Chael Sonnen applauds McGregor’s style.

On the flip-side of the coin, the one person who matters the most (as of right now, at least), is current UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo, who says he doesn’t see anything that stands out in McGregor.

After informing everyone that “cracking the soft part of the face turns him on”, McGregor switched focus to the other man who may possess what he wants after Saturday night — Chad “Money” Mendes.

During a recent BT Sports’ “Beyond the Octagon” appearance, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor decided to hijack Mendes’ interview, which led to a wild back-and-forth playing out on live television.

And finally, we turn our attention to the UFC themselves. New on the official YouTube channel is the following video dubbed, “Conor’s Checklist,” which is basically a brief compilation of Conor McGregor’s finest sound bites.

Did McGregor talk his way into a title opportunity, or did he earn it? The real question is: does it matter? Who isn’t going to fork over $50 to watch McGregor fight Aldo or Mendes in the next UFC Featherweight Championship match?

Make sure to check out MMANews.com this Saturday, October 25, 2014, as we cover the UFC 179 pay-per-view event live here on the website.
