UFC has released the “Countdown to UFC 189” special, which takes an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the top two fights scheduled for next Saturday’s pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada.
First up is the main event for the interim UFC Featherweight Championship between Conor McGregor and Chad Mendes. The official description for part one of Countdown To UFC 189, which you can watch above, reads as follows:
“Go into the training camps of Irish sensation Conor McGregor and Team Alpha Male’s Chad Mendes as they both prep for their UFC featherweight interim title bout in the main event at UFC 189 in this edition of Countdown.”
Next up is the co-main event, which features Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald battling for the second time inside the Octagon, this time for the undisputed UFC Welterweight Championship. The official description for the second half of Countdown to UFC 189, which you can watch below, reads as follows:
“UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, fresh off his win against Johny Hendricks to claim the strap, is set for his first title defense against Canadian Rory MacDonald. Go inside the fight camps of both co-main event stars in this edition of Countdown.”
