Many believed Urijah Faber would come out, silence prospect Jimmie Rivera and keep his standing in the bantamweight division.
That did not happen, and “The California Kid” isn’t really sure why.
Faber, who is now 37 years old, admitted in an interview with UFC.com afterwards that he’s unsure of his fighting future moving forward.
“I don’t know,” Faber said. “I’m going to go back and relax. This week I came and I was doing my water load and I cut 21 pounds since Tuesday, so that was kind of rough. I’m going to take some time and think about things and watch the fight and see what happens after that. I’ve got no plans.”
The former UFC title challenger and WEC champion fell to 33-10 overall and in his career and is now just 9-6 inside the Octagon. The loss was the first time he has suffered back-to-back defeats, as champion Dominick Cruz bested him earlier this year.
