WSOF Champion Marlon Moraes On Verge Of Being A Free Agent

Marlon Moraes, the reigning World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion, will fulfill his contract with the promotion after his next bout.

While many WSOF athletes such as David Branch have recently signed new deals, Moraes is planning to see what free agency has to offer, as he told MMAFighting.com.

“I’m a WSOF fighter now, and I have one fight left in my contract. After this fight, I will see what I want to do,” he said. “I’m happy here, so after my next fight I will talk to my family, my manager and my team to see what’s best for the team. I don’t fear anything. That’s what life is all about. If you don’t risk, you can’t win. I don’t fear taking risks.”

Moraes has put together an impressive 11-fight win streak that includes nines wins with the WSOF. Recently, he scored a first round finish over Joseph Barajas to successfully defend his title and improve to 16-4-1.

“It doesn’t change anything because I know my qualities. It’s a matter of time until I conquer my space in the UFC or wherever I go,” he said. “It’s a matter of time until I go there and put on a show. I fight aggressively, put on great fights, knockouts. Win or lose, I put on the best fight of the night. That’s what fans enjoy. Where I’m going or where I’m at, I’m not worried.”
