WSOF To Stream Events Internationally

World Series of Fighting (WSOF) events, including the main events and undercard matches, will now be available to fans globally through a live stream on NBCSports.com.

The announcement comes just in time for “World Series of Fighting 9: Carl vs. Palhares,” which takes place March 29 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The star-studded event – which will be broadcast live in the U.S. on NBCSN and features Brazilian stars Rousimar Palhares and Marlon Moraes fighting for world titles, as well as Japanese superstar Yushin Okami battling Bulgaria’s Svetlozar Savov – streams live internationally on NBCSports.com beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on March 29, and includes multiple undercard bouts. The event will also stream live in the U.S. through “TV Everywhere” on NBC Sports Live Extra, the NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for the web, mobile devices and tablets.

“This is huge news for us, as well as for our fans in the U.S. as well all around the world,” World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo said. “I am constantly receiving emails and tweets from fans who are eager to be able to watch our fights, and I’m so proud to finally offer them this opportunity. It’s been my mission since day one to have these amazing fights playing in homes all around the world, and this is a massive step in that direction!”

World Series of Fighting 9 is the most stacked fight card in the organization’s history. Palhares, arguably the fight game’s most feared submission expert, challenges World Series of Fighting welterweight kingpin Steve Carl for his belt. In the co-main event, Marlon Moraes (who is always trying to knock his opponent out) faces Josh Rettinghouse for the inaugural World Series of Fighting bantamweight title. Okami, arguably the most accomplished Japanese fighter in MMA history and the man Chael Sonnen says he “never wants to fight again,” makes his much-anticipated World Series of Fighting debut against Savov, Bulgaria’s most promising middleweight.

Also on the main card are Josh Burkman (the only man in the past decade to submit Jon Fitch), heavy-handed Tyler Stinson (who owns 19 knockouts, four of them in 16 seconds or less), and U.S. Marines and Iraqi war veterans Mike Corey and Shane Kruchten (recent subject of a lengthy MSNBC documentary).
