UFC 212 Preliminary Results:
Brian Kelleher vs. Iuri Alcântara
Round 1:
Right out the gates, both men begin to exchange nice strikes. Alcantara lands a couple of nice strikes before eating a good right hook from Kelleher. Alcantara immediately responds with a takedown, however, as he takes him down Kelleher hooks in a guillotine in half guard. The choke must’ve been tight because Alcantara didn’t hesitate to tap out.

Johnny Eduardo vs. Mathew Lopez
Round 1:
Eduardo opens up with a leg kick attack before landing a nice right hand. A feeling out process ensues before Lopez gets in on a failed takedown attempt. Both men land some nice, hard hooks but neither individual looks rocked.
Lopez gets a takedown and gets right into full guard. Eduardo locks up one of Lopez’s legs. Lopez wiggles free and establishes dominant position and reigns down some nasty ground-and-pound. Eduardo has no answer and the ref calls it off.

Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Eric Spicely
Round 1:
Carlos Junior pushes the action early but gets taken down by Spicely. Carlos Junior works for a few submissions and both men end up locking each other’s leg. Both men exchange punches while in the position for a few minutes.
After a long scramble the fight finds its way back to the feet, but Carlos Junior immediately goes back in on a takedown, a scramble ensues, and Carlos Junior takes Spicely’s back. After a few rear-naked choke attempts and some ground-and-pound, the round comes to an end.
Round 2:
Carlos Junior stuffs a takedown and the fight ends up on the ground with Carlos Junior on top. Junior works from Spicely’s half guard and transitions to Carlos Junior’s back for a moment. Carlos Junior now finds his way in Spicely’s butterfly guard, stands up, and is able to take Spicely’s back again and establish the body triangle.
After a few minutes, Junior is able to lock in the rear-naked choke and Spicely is forced to tap out.

Raphael Assuncao vs. Marlon Moraes
Round 1:
Moraes opens things up with a nice right-hand uppercut. Assuncao lands a nice 1-2 combo and Moraes responds with a right hook. Assuncao goes in for a takedown but it’s stuffed.
Both men continue to exchange strikes to the end of the round and Assuncao lands the last shot with a big right hand.
Round 2:
More striking exchanges with both men landing the occasional hard shot but not too much action as they both remain tentative. Assuncao ends the round with a high kick.
Round 3:
Assuncao opens the round with a nasty right hand but Moraes stays on his feet. Moraes lands a nice leg kick on Assuncao as he’s moving forward and he falls down but pops immediately back up. Moraes lands a nice body kick but Assuncao responds right back with one of his own.
Moraes catches an Assuncao kick and takes him down but he’s able to get right back up to his feet. The round ends with a flurry of kicks from Moraes but none of them land significantly.
