UFC Fight Night 131 Results: Moraes Makes Quick Work Of Rivera

UFC Fight Night 131 went down live last night (Fri. June 1, 2018) from the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York.

The main event will saw No. 4-ranked bantamweight Jimmie Rivera fall to No. 5-ranked Marlon Moraes. Moraes hit a perfect switch kick on Rivera that rendered him unconscious. After some subsequent ground-and-pound, Moraes would pick up the spectacular victory.

In the co-main event lightweight Gregor Gillespie toppled Vinc Pichel with a dominant performance, while heavyweight Walt Harris finished Daniel Spitz inside the Octagon as well. Veteran Jake Ellenberger succumbed to a vicious knee to the body at the hands of Ben Saunders in the first round of their welterweight bout as well.

Round 1:

Moraes gets things started with a leg kick. A high kick from Moraes lands and knocks Rivera down as his eyes roll back. He falls to the ground and Moraes follows up with subsequent ground-and-pound. That’s it. Moraes gets the knockout win.
